Dec. 3, 69 to Dec 12th 69 UDORN, Dec. 12, 69 to Dec. 3, 70 NKP Thailand, Sgt. Paul E. Austin, Det. 25 10th Weather Squadron. Just before getting aboard, used various aircraft, to gather SEA area photos, info to assist in the making a new visibility charts. It will be used to help Pilots and the weather station forecasters determine visibility distances and conditions over Laos, Cambodia, Nothern South Vietnam and Southern Vietnam. from NKP in all types of weather. It is one of many different aircraft types, I flew in. Also flights to most of the bases in Thailand and in and out of South Vietnam over 20 days in early half of 1970. Acquired the drift info from the following site: "https://www.westin553.net/batcat15.htm">https://www.westin553.net/batcat There are several helpful maps of Thailand Bases at this site.

INVERT DET 5 621 TCS 72-73; Returned to NKP with my wife last January 2019 to visit the airport and to go down town. So many memories and so many changes, but the mountains across the river never change. It was all good.
I just found out about the reunion a few days ago but to late because it is full. Sent request if opening becomes available. Heard nothing...oh well! Have fun.

After USAF, spent 30+ years as prosecutor for State of Florida. Retired from State, now teaching law at Barry University College of Law in Orlando.

I worked at USSAG Raido Maintenance and Base Radio Maintenance as a 30454 from Jan. '74 to Jan '75. Worked part-time at the MARS station running phone patch traffic back to the states. The 'THEN' photo was my passport photo taken at NKP in '74. NOW photo is from my 66th birthday as I start a hikein the Great Smoky Mtns. NP.
