| Comment: Arrived NKP July 4th, 1969. First 8 months I was assigned to Flight Records section (AFTO 781) rennovated data input and programs on Keypunch and new computer programs. Moved to the Deputy Commander of Operations, Administration in the Wing Headquarters. Additional duty was Augmentee Hazard Disaster team (Herbicide & CS Gas). Married Thai lady doing janitor work in Wing Headquarters compound buildings. Departed to HQ 7/13 AF, Udorn RTAFB, June 30, 1970. And that is another story. | |

| Comment: I arrived at NPK September 1969 after thirteen months in Suwon, South Korea and was assigned to the 456MMS in the bomb dump. I worked days for three months then they transfered me to the midnight shift loading munitions on trailers headed to the flightline. After six months they put me incharge of maintaining all the trailers the munitions were hauled on. It was one other enlisted airman and six Thai mechanics. September 1970 I shipped stateside to refuel aircraft at Grissom AFB til my enlistment was complete. | |

| Comment: I was an F-4C pilot assigned to the 433rd TFS, Ubon AB, Thailand from Nov 1966 to 20 May 1967. I was shot down over North Vietnam during my 113th combat mission, captured and spent 5 years 9 months as a POW. In April 1967 I was sent TDY to NKP to fly with the 606th Air Commandos. I flew 41 combat missions in 21 days at NKP: 28 missions in the T-28D/5 with the 606th, and 13 missions in the O-1F with the 23rd TASS. After repatriation on 18 Feb 1973, I returned to school (via AFIT) and finished my 24 1/2 year AF career as a veterinarian. | |
